Molly’s Lap Duvet
The best kinds of sewing projects are beautiful and quick. I love the simplicity of this quilt. And the best part is – you don’t even really need to know how to quilt. It took the creator (Molly) two and a half hours from start to finish to whip up this incredibly beautiful piece. It makes for a great last minute baby shower gift, house warming gift, first quilting project, or even just an afternoon craft. Another great idea by Molly was to create this same pattern using a flannel fabric; making it cold-weather friendly! Check out the full directions here. She also made a winter friendly wool version seen here.
Moda’s Random Reflections Quilt
This gorgeous quilt is great for using up those colorful fabric scraps. As long as you have a couple of long rectangles to assemble together, you’ve got the basics for this beginner quilt. Check out the full tutorial here.
5×5 Quilt Tutorial
Cloud 9 boasts that this pattern can be done in about two hours. All it takes is five swatches from five fabrics (25 total). The secret is larger than normal quilt squares in a rectangular shape. Just some basic sewing skills required and you are good to go!
In just under an hour, you can have some gorgeous new coasters for your home (or to give as a housewarming gift)! With just a few scraps of fabric and an afternoon to yourself, you’ll have these done up in no time. Check out the full tutorial from Craft Foxes.
